OPUS Vancouver’s Spring Revamp
by: May Globus
Spring is always a time for new beginnings – or, at the very least, a fresh new look.
The OPUS Vancouver - one of the city’s original boutique hotels – and its room muses are even more bold in colour than before, thanks to a makeover by interior designer, Robert Bailey.
Periwinkle walls, faux snakeskin headboards and Hermes-orang decor are now accented with works from four local artists, too. Taizo Yamamoto‘s carefully pencil-drawn shopping carts, Mark Mizgala‘s water pistols, Alana Rothstein‘s acrylic collages and Tiko Kerr‘s watercolors are measures of the discerning art smarts of both Bailey and OPUS owner, John Evans, who looked to incorporate Vancouver talent into a space that is equal parts contemporary and cultural.
Other upgrades include those the tech kind: guests can stay connected at all times using loaded iPads and Samsung Galaxy S3s (with complimentary wi-fi, of course).
To new beginnings!
